Just a short jump from Aytos to Burgas where i stayed for a day to give my tormented body rest.
Aytos

If it had been a sunny warm summer day, todays route would have been a marvelous ride through a lovely valley with plenty of nature and a small creek to cool off and camp next to it, surrounded by scenic mountaineous landscape. Unfortunately it was not a lovely summerday, but a cold, rainy and windy day in October. Nonetheless, i liked going through this valley.
I was approaching a pass(Aitoski pass) at 390m but for 80km the valley-floor was merely rising and i was still at 200m 11km before Aytos, the pass i couldn't find still laying somewhere in front of me. Finally, i was already very weary, chilled to the bone and wet from sweat, i saw the ascend to the pass at the horizon, a sharp 300m rise in height within 2km. When i started climbing, it was starting to get dark, after the hill, it was pitch-black night. Going downhill to Aytos was scary - a heavy, choppy wind blowing from the side, freezing temperatures, the pothole-ridden street only dimly lit by the circle of my headlamp, glaring lights from the opposing traffic, uncertain if i would find a place to sleep in Aytos.
Most extreme night so far - storm(still goes on) and temperature close to zero. At least the wind is in my back and will blow me to Burgas.
